Paranormal State - Directors Log
February 26, 2008
After watching Paranormal State I find myself asking a lot of questions about the shows credibility. I am a paranormal enthusiast and I am always looking for reasons if and why unexplained things happen. As I was watching the show, I noticed right off the bat at the beginning of the show, they say that the PRS only goes to the cases that are most extreme and that the show is one of those cases.
Well there was a show about the “Black Figure” that a woman’s son used to see right before he committed suicide, Once he was passed his older brother would also say he was seeing it too. At first the older brother didn’t want any part of the PRS crew there and refused to be at the house while they were doing their investigation, But as the night got on he showed up. What would make him change his mind? Was he looking for some answers? Did he not want to be scared anymore? If something is so dramatic why would you change your mind after only 3 hrs? Kinda seems strange to me.
Then they always do what they call “Dead Time” It usually happens at 3 am. I often ask myself is “dead time” the time that these “Ghosts or spirits” arrive, When they sit around a lit candle is that more inviting to the spirit to make itself show. I really don’t understand their concept when they do these investigations! The Paranormal State crew seems they do more with psychics and mediums. Once they start their investigations they use flood lights or motion detectors. That really gets me because they always seem to go off right when they ask the right questions, and do you ever notice where these lights are sitting, Right by the stairs or right next to a wall.
I have noticed doing a little research, and I ask anyone to help prove this, That when you have a motion detector to close to the wall it can actually detect the motion of the shadow because it is a movement. I like the show and think that they have some unique styles about investigating but I don’t see how a bunch of kids with very little paranormal investigating tools can come up with any kind of conclusion. The only real tools I have seen them use are EVP, which again never turns out any solid evidence of the paranormal. I have never seen any hard evidence to convince me that they have ever seen anything except what is in their own imagination. After their investigation on EVERY episode they always bless the house and mysteriously they say, since the investigation all paranormal activity has come to an end.

Never pick up a Ghost Hitchhiker

This video was taken by 3 teens in Portugal while driving through the streets. They see a woman standing on the side of the road and stop to see if she is alright. The woman’s was Teresa Fidalgo who died in 1983, 3 years before this video was recorded. Take a look and you be the judge.
Now there alot of people who cant distinguish if it is real or not. There have been statements like,
” First, tha dialogue is vague, with some jokes and the girl in front sseat begging to turn off the camera, and the boy in front seat says the the cameraman use the camera like a new toy.
They passes in a desert forest with dead trees, and all says how sinister is the local, and when they catch the new girl, she says about a accident that she sufered but dont remember. When she began talk some more, the accident occur.
Well, the end of the video says that the cameraman was the only suvivor, and about that girl whos is a girl who supose died in a car accident two years before.”
The girl points out the ’spot’ to the driver, which became the location of the crash. As if she’s destined to keep repeating her death? So you decide is it fake? Was there really an accident that killed these 3 teens? I did some research and I did find that there were 3 teens killed on that night. Now if it was this I am not sure.
Don’t Believe in Ghosts? Take a look here!

All these skeptics out there are claiming there are no such things as Ghosts, Spirits or the Afterlife. Is it maybe because they have also has experiences and are to afraid of the truth or would it be that they don’t want to let them selves believe and just make fun of those who do. If there is no such thing as ghost then how to you explain what occurs everyday that does not have a scientific meaning. It has always been my understanding that if you can’t prove why something happen with scientific measures then that my friend means it is PARANORMAL. Alot of people do not understand what paranormal is, it does not always means ghosts, UFO’s, or the after life, it is just saying that something is going on that we cant explain.
I am a believe but there are also some shows out there that are disrespectful to what we believe in, The biggest on is “A Hunting“. I mean are you serious, This is a bunch of people either paid by the producers to come up with some BS story to make it on the air and get some viewers or it is people trying to get there face on TV. A prime example is the Amityville Murders and story. Yes the murders were an actual event where Ronald Defoe killed his parents and 4 brothers and sisters while they were sleeping in there bed in 1974. But I bet you didn’t know was that the “Haunted House” was all a hoax. The people who bought the “Amityville Horror House” a week before Christmas in 1975 came up with a great plan. George and Kathy Lutz the new proud owners of the house actually came up with the whole “haunted house” story with Ronald Defoes defense attorney William Weber. It was a big hoax and scam that they came up with over dinner and a few glasses of wine.
If you search hard enough enough you can find where the attorney, William Weber actually sued the Lutz’s for fraud and breach of contract in 1979.
So again it is fakes like these that feed the skeptics in believing that there is no paranormal, there aren’t any spirits. There is no such things as ghost. Well my answer to that is the same as yours to believers. PROVE IT. Try to prove about your theory and we will prove ours. That is one of the great things about the Ghost Hunters series, they actually go in to disprove a haunting and yet they find evidence. How do you explain that? You cant and that’s why it is called paranormal.
This is a picture for all them skeptics out there who don’t believe in the paranormal and all the claims of spirit activity. This picture was taken behind my house in the woods of Tennessee. If you didn’t believe in the after life before this will make you a believer.

I think the one on the left is trying to tell you skeptics something!
Paranormal State - Great article by Ryan Buell
February 10, 2008
I came across the PRS Blog and found a great article written by the shows head investigator Ryan Buell. He makes a great point on “fake” psychics and testing their abilities. I have been intrigued by the paranormal for quite some time now and I get a chuckle out of the “Real Deals”. Some of these people go to great lengths to try and “prove their powers when actually they look more like an ass than someone who has credibility. This is a great read for those who want to see a “fake” be put in her place.
“Case in point. The PRS gang headed to Duffy’s Tavern to celebrate with fans and supporters of the show. We watched the new episode with them. Later, I was introduced to a woman who claimed to have psychic ability. She did a walk-through of the restaurant and claimed she felt the presence of spirits on the second level. I was polite and seemed intrigued by the whole matter. I decided I wanted to tour the upstairs just for historical purposes and the psychic-in-question offered to tag along and show where she felt the spirits. We were followed by a very small crowd of people who wanted to check it out also. One young man was already up there. The psychic-in-question immediately said, “oooh, do you feel that? The cold spot? That cold energy?” Both Heather and I looked up to a vent that was right above us and said in unison, “it’s the vent.” She looked like she had just ate something sour. “No, I’m not talking about VENTS, I’m talking about ENERGY.” I just shrugged and walked off. In truth, I was more interested in checking out the upstairs. The young man, however, continued to be lectured by this psychic-in-question about the energy she was feeling. She stressed that he needed to let go of his perceptions and open himself up to the feelings around him. ”
Thank You Ryan for that great read and keep up the good work.
